Anne Rice’s rich, vampiric world keeps evolving. The author’s book universe is returning to the screen with the series adaptation of Interview With the Vampire. The sequel, titled The Vampire Lestat—the second book in Rice’s Vampire Chronicles—has received the green light and is coming to AMC.

While the first and second installments in the series followed the story of 200-year-old vampire Louis de Pointe du Lac after being turned by Lestat de Lioncourt, The Vampire Lestat (technically season 3) turns the focus to Lestat’s life in 1980s France as his star rises in both the human and vampire world.

What will The Vampire Lestat be about?

According to Deadline, “the Vampire Lestat goes on an electric multi-city tour while being haunted by ‘muses’ from his wild and rebellious past. As his band’s popularity and star power rise, so does Lestat’s influence over vampires and humans alike, leaving others to contend with Lestat’s power in the face of the Great Conversion, an unnatural surge in the vampire population.”

The official synopsis of Rice’s corresponding novel offers a bit more detail: “The vampire hero of Anne Rice’s enthralling novel is a creature of the darkest and richest imagination. Once an aristocrat in the heady days of pre-revolutionary France, now a rock star in the demonic, shimmering 1980s, he rushes through the centuries in search of others like him, seeking answers to the mystery of his eternal, terrifying existence. His is a mesmerizing story—passionate, complex, and thrilling,” it reads.

When will The Vampire Lestat be released?

Deadline confirmed that the season will arrive on June 7, 2026.

Who is in the cast?

Sam Reid will star as Lestat de Lioncourt in the series. Jacob Anderson, Assad Zaman, Eric Bogosian, Delainey Hayles, and Jennifer Ehle will also star.
