THE RUNDOWN

- The singer had been quietly liking all his Instagrams about the project.
Ariana Grande posted a rare public show of support for her boyfriend, Ethan Slater, as he finished his Off-Broadway show Marcel on the Train’s run yesterday. People reported that Grande reposted an Instagram of his with a congratulatory message on her Instagram Story. A fan shared a screenshot on social media of the post, which has since expired. “Congratulations on a beautiful run of this very beautiful show ♡????♡,” Grande wrote. “So very proud.”
The singer had also “liked” all of Slater’s posts about the production this winter:
Grande and Slater have kept their relationship mostly out of the spotlight. During their Wicked: For Good press tour this past fall, they purposely avoided posing as a couple. Multiple sources told TMZ at the time that Grande and Slater are “just private people and want the focus to be on their movie and not their private lives.”
On September 8, a source told Entertainment Tonight that the couple was doing well but prefer to keep their love story out of the spotlight. “Ariana and Ethan are still together and very happy with each other,” the insider shared. “They just enjoy keeping their private life private.”
The source added generally that “Ethan and Ariana support each other no matter what.”
Grande and Slater have been together for years, since news of their relationship first broke in July 2023.
While the couple hasn’t spoken much about their dynamic as a couple, Grande praised Slater’s character in September 2024, telling Vanity Fair, “No one on this earth tries harder or spreads themselves thinner to be there for the people that he loves and cares about. There is no one on this earth with a better heart.”
