Your Guide to the Cast of Scarpetta Season 1

Pete Marino, who is characterized as equal parts street-smart and blunt, is a former detective who has a past with Scarpetta—he worked alongside her to crack the case that would later define her career. After Scarpetta makes her return, he assists her once again as her partner. But he’s deeply intertwined with the Scarpetta family, doubling as Dorothy’s husband, and Lucy’s father figure/potential future business partner.

Cannavale’s previous roles include Boardwalk Empire, The Irishman, The Station Agent, and Only Murders in the Building.

Lucy is Dorothy’s daughter and has a tragic backstory of her own. As Dorothy set off to be a wild and free spirit, she was left to be cared for by Kay, causing Lucy to have a tense relationship with her mother. As Lucy became an adult, she suffered the loss of her wife Janet, who—through Lucy’s skills as a computer whiz—lives on as a sentient AI program. Lucy hopes to start a private eye shop with Pete.
