Everything We Know About Anya Taylor-Joy’s New Series Lucky

The limited series adaptation is brought to you by Jonathan Tropper (Your Friends & Neighbors, This Is Where I Leave You), who will serve as co-showrunner alongside Cassie Pappas (Griselda, Silo). Reese Witherspoon will executive produce the series for Hello Sunshine—Lucky was a Reese’s Book Club pick in 2021.

What is Lucky about?
Here’s the official synopsis, per Apple TV:
Lucky centers on a young woman who left behind the life of crime she was raised in years ago, but must now embrace her darker, criminal side one final time in a desperate attempt to escape her past.
Who is in the cast?
Anya Taylor-Joy stars as Lucky and also serves as executive producer. The cast is rounded out by Drew Starkey, Annette Bening, Timothy Olyphant, and Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor.
Per Deadline, Starky will play Cary, Lucky’s husband; Bening will play Priscilla, a mob boss; Olyphant will play John, Lucky’s father; and Ellis-Taylor will play Agent Billie Rand.
When does Lucky come out?
Lucky will release its first two episodes on July 15 on Apple TV, and new episodes will drop every Wednesday until August 19.
Can I see a sneak peak?
Yes, Apple TV released a teaser trailer in February 2026. In the short clip, Lucky (Taylor-Joy) appears to be on the run from the FBI. Starkey, Bening, and Ellis Taylor also briefly appear in the teaser. Watch it below:
