Champions League recap: Galatasaray stun Liverpool with Osimhen goal

The second matchday of the 2025-26 UEFA Champions League didn’t disappoint, with goals galore from all around Europe.

In the early match, we saw Kylian Mbappé score a hat trick and his 60th Champions League goal as he helped Real Madrid to a 5-1 win all the way in Kazakhstan against Kairat Almaty.

The big shock happened in Turkey as thanks to a Victor Osimhen goal, Galatasaray stunned Liverpool with a 1-0 win.

Both Atlético Madrid and Bayern Munich scored five goals against Eintracht Frankfurt and Pafos respectively, while Tottenham Hotspur clawed back from 2-0 down to earn a point in a 2-2 draw away to Bodø/Glimt.

Finally, in Jose Mourinho’s return to Stamford Bridge, Chelsea earned a 1-0 win against Benfica.
