Kali Uchis and Don Toliver’s Complete Relationship Timeline
Rumors that Don Toliver and Kali Uchis had connected romantically started circulating way back in 2020. They confirmed their relationship a year later but didn’t appear on the red carpet together until a year after that. Though the couple post about one another frequently on social media, their public appearances and comments have been relatively limited over the past five years.
But in 2024, Uchis and Toliver announced they were expecting their first child together. They’ve also connected through several musical collaborations and steamy music videos. Here’s Kali Uchis and Don Toliver’s complete relationship timeline so far.
Late 2020
Fans noted Instagram Stories shared by Toliver that featured a woman, who many believed was Uchis. The debate raged on, but neither musical artist commented on the rumors at the time.
May 2021
Uchis appeared in two of Toliver’s music videos in spring 2021 as he prepared to release his sophomore album, Life of a DON: “What You Need” and “Drugs N Hella Melodies.”
Uchis sings on the latter track, and the video is particularly sensual, featuring them enjoying a bubble bath together.
The videos were also reportedly film in Colombia, where Uchis’s family is from.
July 2021
In an interview with W magazine, Toliver admitted the pair was together, saying, “We’re not crazy public or nothing like that. We just vibe.”
He also confirmed visiting Colombia in 2021 and meeting some of her family.
“I already had it in my mind to go out there and shoot a video with her incorporated into it, to make it a real-deal situation,” Toliver added.
November 2021
The couple caught a game at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on November 2, watching the Houston Rockets face off against the Los Angeles Lakers.
April 2022
The pair went red carpet official at the 64th Annual Grammy Awards. Uchis’s album, Sin Miedo (Del Amor Y Otros Demonios), was nominated.
June 2022
On Toliver’s 28th birthday, Uchis posted a compilation video of them together.
“Happy birthday baby!!” she wrote in the caption. “May the blessings multiply every year & may you continue to be divinely guided through it all. I thank God for the day your love came into my life.”
December 2022
The pair looked chic at the “Le Raphia” Jacquemus show on December 12.
February 2023
Uchis starred in another one of Toliver’s music videos for their collab on the track “4 Me,” in which he sings, “I need to hold my bae, baby / I need to feel your heart, bae, baby / I need you in my arms.”
March 2023
For her track “Fantasy,” off Uchis’s Red Moon in Venus album, Toliver made an appearance.
“I’ll do it all again just to see your face / I’m really winning living happily / This here my fantasy / I wanna start me a family,” he said on the song.
While they enjoy presenting an idealized version of their relationship in music videos, Toliver shared in an interview on The Breakfast Club that things aren’t always perfect.
“When you in a relationship, sometimes it’s not peaches and cream,” he admitted. “Sometimes y’all busy, y’all schedules conflict, y’all might be arguing about the littlest and dumbest things. It’s a lot of stuff that goes on that makes a relationship tougher than it is sometimes.”
But he explained that this is the most “invested” he’s ever been in a relationship, saying Uchis is the “one.”
When asked if he’d get married, Toliver replied, “Yes, I would love it. If you’ve been with somebody for two to three years-plus that me and my girl going on, you kinda know if really you want to be with them. That’s kinda how I feel like, ‘We here.’”
In an interview that same month with ELLE.com, Uchis shared that music gives them “a whole different way to connect” as they can “just get on a microphone and bounce melodies off each other.”
“And we love listening to music together,” she added. “That was one of the first ways we really bonded: We just showed each other a bunch of music. We have pretty much the same tastes, so it comes naturally.”
She also talked about touring together.
“I feel like it’s a beautiful thing to travel the world with somebody you love,” she said. “He comes on my tours, and I go on his. That’s how we figured out how to do our lives.”
Toliver also seemed to be happy with their careers, telling Nessa On Air that he admires his girlfriend’s work.
“She sets out to do the things that she wants to do and just accomplish them. I just watch, and I’m just in awe and just happy that she’s able to do so,” he said, adding, “I love that.”

Uchis performed at Coachella in 2023, and Toliver joined her onstage for their song “Fantasy.”

Toliver celebrated Uchis’s birthday with a video of himself singing to her on stage.

January 2024
Uchis and Toliver announced they were expecting in early 2024, sharing a video of Toliver kissing Uchis’s baby bump and some footage of themselves as babies.
“Starting our family,” the couple captioned the news. “Don’t take too long to get here little pooks, mom & dad can’t wait to share our life with you.”
In an interview with Billboard that month promoting her album Orquideas, Uchis talked about hiding her pregnancy.
“I had to do some shows, and I was on a TIME list so I had to do a red carpet—that was really hard,” she said. “It’s so much to be excited for, so it’s hard to say just one thing.”
March 2024
The couple welcomed their son in March. Uchis shared a video clip of her in the delivery bed with Toliver leaning down to kiss her, as well as some shots of the infant’s feet and legs as he’s being held by his dad.
She wrote in the caption, “you are everything we could have hoped for & more. Thank you God for our beautiful healthy baby boy, & thank you all for the Good energy along the way. may our home & your homes forever be blessed with peace, happiness & health.”

Uchis wrote a loving tribute to Toliver for his birthday, sharing photos and clips from their time together. In the caption, she wrote, “Happy birthday my love you are so appreciated.
