How Taylor Swift Celebrated Travis Kelce’s Big Milestone at the Christmas Day Chiefs Game

On Christmas day, Travis Kelce took the field with his team the Kansas City Chiefs for their game against the Pittsburgh Steelers at Acrisure Stadium. His girlfriend, Taylor Swift, was not in the stands, but she was obviously tuned in. When Kelce broke the Chiefs’ record for most receiving touchdowns on Wednesday, she knew about it. The Super Bowl winner scored his 77th touchdown that game. The previous record belonged to Tony Gonzalez at 76.

The team celebrated Kelce on Instagram with a post of the football star, writing, “If you ever can’t find Travis, chances are he’s in the end zone. Congrats, @killatrav!”

Shortly after, Swift snuck onto the timeline to give the post a “like.”

Fans were surprised that Swift didn’t make it to the game, since she and some of her family members supported the Chiefs last Christmas at Arrowhead Stadium when they played against the Las Vegas Raiders. In October, a source told Page Six that Swift was likely not going to be at away games due to security concerns.

“She’s not going anywhere unless she knows the venue intimately, and it has been thoroughly scouted and secured in advance,” the source said.

The star also just finished her epic Eras Tour, which came to a close on December 8. A source told Us Weekly on December 3 that the star was planning to host her and Kelce’s family for the holidays.

“Taylor plans to stay in and hibernate [with Travis] for a while. They want to do ‘normal things’ as a couple,” said the insider.

Swift’s birthday was on December 13, and she and Kelce were able to spend it together. On December 5, a source told Page Six, “Although he’ll be playing on Christmas and has an away game the weekend of Taylor’s birthday, Travis is going to make sure to take time out to celebrate both occasions with her.”

He reportedly got her a lot of gifts.

“[He] has been shopping for Christmas and birthday gifts for Taylor for quite a while now,” the insider said. “[He’s] not the type to leave these things to the last minute so he’s been picking up items here and there for the past several months whenever he has a chance.”

And at some point after her tour ended and before Christmas, Kelce threw Swift a giant wrap party in Kansas City as well, with many of her closest friends. It’s certainly been a busy month for them both.
