The National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Barr. Sly Ezeokenwa, has extended heartfelt congratulations to all Nigerians as the nation celebrates its 64th Independence Anniversary.

In his Independence Day message, delivered on his behalf by his Media Adviser, Dr. Tony Olisa Mbeki Ogbonna, Ezeokenwa urged Nigerians to remain steadfast in their pursuit of a better nation despite the ongoing security and economic challenges.

He praised the resilience, strength, and unity of the Nigerian people, acknowledging the country’s journey towards development in the face of numerous obstacles. Ezeokenwa noted that the 64th Independence anniversary is not only a time for celebration but also an opportunity for reflection on the progress made since Nigeria gained independence in 1960.

“As we commemorate this landmark occasion, we must remember the sacrifices of our founding fathers, who fought for our freedom and laid the foundation for the Nigeria we know today,” he stated. “Their courage and vision continue to inspire us as we work together to build a stronger, more united, and prosperous nation.”

The APGA National Chairman reiterated the party’s commitment to fostering good governance, unity, and socio-economic development in Nigeria. He called on Nigerians to embrace peace, tolerance, and patriotism, stressing that the country’s progress relies on the collective efforts of all citizens.

“It is our responsibility to uphold the values of democracy, justice, and equity. We must remain steadfast in our pursuit of a better Nigeria for future generations,” he added. “APGA is dedicated to these ideals and will continue to champion policies that prioritize the welfare of the people.”

Ezeokenwa appealed to President Bola Tinubu and state governors to urgently address the pressing economic and security issues affecting the lives of ordinary Nigerians. He urged the government to implement swift measures to alleviate the hardships caused by recent federal policies, particularly the removal of fuel subsidies and the resulting inflation.

“We are acutely aware of the difficulties faced by Nigerians due to these economic policies. It is imperative that both the Federal and state governments intensify efforts to mitigate their impact, ensuring that the people can regain economic stability and security in their daily lives,” he emphasized.

While acknowledging the current challenges, Ezeokenwa expressed optimism about Nigeria’s future, emphasizing that with sustained efforts in nation-building and a shared sense of purpose, the country can overcome its difficulties and achieve its full potential.

He concluded by urging Nigerians to celebrate this Independence Day with hope and a renewed commitment to unity and progress, assuring that APGA will continue to play a pivotal role in shaping a better Nigeria.
