Zendaya Pays Sartorial Tribute to Carrie Bradshaw at the Challengers Photo-Call in London
Some saw a Carrie Bradshaw reference, and others interpreted Zendaya’s latest Challengers press tour look as a nod to Space Jam’s Lola Bunny. (Zendaya even voiced Lola in Space Jam 2.) What cannot be disputed is that Zendaya and her stylist Law Roach put a summer twist on her daytime look for the film’s photo-call in London.
Roach chose a vintage Vivienne Westwood look from the line’s spring/summer 1994 collection, consisting of a rainbow vest and a miniskirt with a white feather tail attached to it. Zendaya’s hair was styled in a blonde ponytail. She added blunt bangs to complete the look beauty-wise. She accessorized with Bulgari jewelry.
Roach confirmed the look was partly inspired by Sex and the City’s Carrie Bradshaw on Instagram. He included a reference image of Carrie in a green skirt with the same white tail on his Instagram Story.
Zendaya’s look today comes fresh off her wearing a stunning Thom Browne dress at the London premiere last night. Zendaya wore her honey blonde hair in a braid ponytail.
Zendaya spoke about her partnership with Roach, who serves as her creative director, in ELLE’s September issue. “I ride super hard for my team, especially for people I love,” Zendaya said. “He’s involved in every fashion contract, everything I do. If I have an opportunity where he can come with me, he’s always going to be there. He’s always been my creative director in a sense, and he continues to fill that role, because it’s more than just clothes on a red carpet.”
