Karol G Shimmers in a Sheer Gown Covered in Crystals at Billboard’s Women in Music Awards

Colombian singer Karol G is a star and she knows it, because last night she dressed as the brightest, sparkliest one of all. She attended the Billboard Women in Music Awards on Wednesday, March 6, looking dazzling in a sheer gown from Zuhair Muard’s Spring/Summer 2024 Couture collection. The dress had an open back and scooping halter neckline that wrapped around her neck like a choker. To top it off, the dress was completely covered with sparkling crystals.

Karol glistened from head to toe, with bedazzled silver platform heels and diamond rings. Her baby-pink hair was whisked into a half-up, half-down style with loose waves.

“If you asked me, ‘Karol, what would be your dream?’ That your name be recognized worldwide. That would be amazing,” she told Billboard one year ago in 2023.

Now, at this year’s ceremony, Karol was honored as Billboard’s Woman of the Year.

“I think I have to say that it’s the most significant award or recognition that I can get in my life,” Karol humbly told Billboard on the red carpet. “I always fight a lot being a woman in this industry, and to have Woman of the Year is kind of crazy. It’s a lot of responsibility but it’s…I don’t know. I’m super proud of my team, of my family, of the people that trust in me, of the women that work so much, and me being here, I’m super, like, I can’t believe it, but I’m super happy that it’s the reality.”

Karol previously told ELLE last year about how her success became possible due to her parents’ unwavering support.

“For so many years—not one, not two, not three, many years—everyone thought my goal of becoming a singer was a joke. It was a challenge to keep believing in myself,” she said. “And if it wasn’t for my parents convincing me that I could make it, I would have felt ashamed and abandoned the whole thing.”
