On January 10, Selena Gomez hosted an event for her beauty brand, Rare Beauty, in celebration of its brand new Find Comfort Body Collection. Gomez looked angelic in an all-white ensemble consisting of a suit from Giuseppe Di Morabito’s spring 2024 collection, silver Black Suede Studio strappy heeled sandals, the Jaala Nano Rhinestone Clutch by Cult Gaia, the Gaia wool-blend coat by The Frankie Shop, and a white lace corset top. On the same day as Gomez’s January 10 event, news also broke that Gomez will be starring as Linda Ronstadt in an upcoming biopic. Gomez sneakily hinted at the role before it was announced. The actress posted a picture of herself reading Ronstadt’s memoir, Simple Dreams, to her Instagram Story. Not long after, Rolling Stone revealed the casting news.

Simple Dreams: A Musical Memoir by Linda Ronstadt

Gomez seemed to tease the project as far back as August 2023 when she posted some photos of Ronstadt and a quote by her.

Ronstadt has had great success in the rock, country, and Latin music world. Some of her most famous songs are “You’re No Good” and “I’m Still in Love with You.” The singer has 11 Grammys.

According to Rolling Stone, “The biopic is currently in pre-production, with Ronstadt’s manager, John Boylan, and James Keach co-producing. Additional casting details and a release date have not yet been announced.”

This is not the first film to be made about Ronstadt. In 2019, the documentary Linda Ronstadt: The Sound of my Voice was released, and then in 2020, Keach came out with Linda and the Mockingbirds.
