Kylie Jenner Tells Jennifer Lawrence How She and Jordyn Woods Reconciled
Jennifer Lawrence conducted a very wide-ranging interview with Kylie Jenner for Interview magazine, but the actress saved her juiciest question for the end. The actress went ahead and asked Jenner about her reconciliation with close friend Jordyn Woods, following Woods’ estrangement from Jenner after the 2019 Tristan Thompson kissing scandal.
If you need a refresher, Thompson reportedly cheated on Jenner’s sister Khloé Kardashian when he kissed Woods at a party that year. Jenner later unfollowed Woods on Instagram, with sources saying they were no longer friends. Woods told Cosmopolitan UK in its September issue of that year that she hoped someday they’d be close again. “I love her. That’s my homie,” she said of Jenner. “I hope everything falls into place and that we can all grow and build our relationships with our family and God and come back together one day and be stronger and happier.”
Years later, in July 2023, Woods and Jenner were photographed getting sushi together.
Lawrence asked about Woods tactfully, prefacing the question by saying, “My last question is a little intense, but we all want to know. Obviously, there was a huge trauma many years ago, but we’ve recently seen that you are friends with Jordyn again. How is that? How did that happen? What up?”
Jenner responded, “Jordyn and I, we always stayed in touch throughout the years and we would meet up at my house and catch up and just talk through everything. We never fully cut each other off, and one day, naturally, we were like, we want to get sushi and we don’t want to hide anymore. There’s a learning lesson in everything, and I think that in a weird way, everything happens how it’s supposed to happen. We were so attached at the hip that we needed space to grow into the people that we were supposed to be. I needed that independence and that confidence because she was like my security blanket for so long.”
Lawrence said, “I get that and I’m happy that you still have that in a healthier way. She was so young and she made a mistake, but those lifetime friends are very important.”
“Yeah, I agree,” Jenner replied.
