In October, the Modern Family actress was seen out with orthopedic surgeon Dr. Justin Saliman, and a source told ET this month that “things are going great” between them.

Who is Justin Saliman?
Saliman is a well-known surgeon who is particularly celebrated for his work on knee joints and meniscus repair. He studied sports medicine at Stanford and received his medical degree at the University of Colorado School of Medicine, then completed an orthopedic surgery residency at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center of Columbia University. Originally from Denver, he now practices at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles.
He is also an innovator—Saliman is the inventor of the NovoStitch Pro Meniscal Repair System, Forbes reports, which was then bought by medical technology company Smith & Nephew for $105 million.
How long have Vergara and Saliman been dating?
In photos shared by Page Six, Vergara was seen with Saliman in late October in Beverly Hills, California, but it wasn’t clear if they were on a first date or not and they’ve been private about any budding relationship. They were seen again in public in early November, heading to Italian restaurant Giorgio Baldi for dinner.

For now, it seems like Vergara is just approaching dating again slowly, and her support system approves. A source tells ET that Vergara’s closest friends and family “just want her to be happy.”

Saliman was married to The Ugly Truth star Bree Turner for ten years, before separating in 2018 followed by Turner filing for divorce, according to People. She cited “irreconcilable differences” and they share joint legal custody of their two children.
