Marc Jacobs Celebrates His Return to Soho in Style With Debbie Harry
If anyone knows how to celebrate a special occasion, it’s Marc Jacobs. From many a fashion week party to his epic wedding, the designer knows how to gather the right crowd for the right reason. Last night, Jacobs held a homecoming of sorts for his namesake brand’s store reopening in the heart of New York City’s Soho. (His brand’s HQ has been located on Spring Street for over two decades now, and is a stone’s throw away from the new storefront on Prince Street that has everything Marc Jacobs under its roof.)
Kiki boots, anyone?
To properly fête the occasion, Jacobs enlisted his friend and all-around icon Debbie Harry to perform, plus Shygirl and a DJ set from No Vacancy Inn, at Submercer, the new private club nestled in the Mercer Hotel. The guest list was small but mighty, with everyone from June Ambrose to Kelela and Jenna Lyons gathering below street level for an intimate gathering of downtown New York’s boldest and most beloved designer.
