Lydia and Milton overcame so much to make it to their wedding day. From their seven-year age gap to Lydia’s past relationship with fellow contestant Uche, nothing seemed to faze the pair. Despite Milton saying early on in the show that he wasn’t sure he was ready to get married, the couple both made it down the aisle. And they even said yes!

Lydia and Milton tied the knot on the season 5 finale of Love Is Blind. In fact, the pair was seemingly so excited to be married that they started kissing before the officiant even told them to. StyleCaster even tracked down Lydia and Milton’s marriage license at Harris County Clerk’s Office in Texas, noting that the pair was officially married on May 31, 2022. So all signs point to the pair being happily married post-show.

During the reunion, Milton and Lydia revealed that they’re still happily married after a year and a half together. While Milton’s family had initially questioned the couple’s age gap, they revealed that Lydia is now extremely close with his mom in particular. “A little too close,” Milton joked.

Stacy and Izzy

As one of only two couples to make it to their wedding day on season 5, all eyes were on Stacy and Izzy. Despite some speed bumps along the way, including disagreements over money, the duo made it all the way to the altar, and for a second, it looked as though they might actually tie the knot.

Sadly, Stacy had some doubts about jumping into marriage. While Izzy said “I do,” Stacy said she needed more time. Despite walking away from the wedding, Stacy explained that she wanted to continue dating Izzy, saying that she simply wasn’t ready to get married after such a short courtship. Initially, Izzy seemed fine with the decision, but soon after, his confessional interviews got more and more emotional. During a tense conversation, Izzy told Stacy, “When is ever going to be the right time? That’s what I’m always going to wonder with you.” Clearly devastated, Izzy said that he just wanted to find someone who knew he was the one.

Before the finale aired, Izzy and Stacy hinted that they were still together with a very suggestive Instagram Story. Stacy shared a photo of a bouquet, writing, “Flower Mondays from @lafetehtx,” also tagging Izzy in the photo. Izzy subsequently reposted the pic, leading fans to believe that they were still together.

In an Instagram Q & A, Izzy seemingly said too much when asked if he was still with Stacy. “Yesss but for god [sic] sake it’s STACY not Stacey or Stacie,” he wrote, before quickly deleting the post. Obviously, contestants are meant to keep their relationship statuses under wraps until the reunion, so it’s possible Izzy got himself into some hot water. However, TMZ suggested that Izzy had actually been spotted out on a date with someone other than Stacy, leading sleuths to wonder if the couple had called it quits after all.

At the reunion, Stacy and Izzy revealed that they took some time for themselves after their wedding, and after a brief conversation, they didn’t speak for a year. They reconnected when they ran into each other at a bar a year later. Despite kissing, they decided to remain friends, or “bros,” as Izzy put it.

Izzy also shocked everyone by revealing that he and Johnie had reconnected after the series to see if there might be something between them. They even kissed in his car after hanging out in a bar. Ultimately, it was too soon for both of them so they went their separate ways.

Izzy revealed that he was now seeing someone new. Although Stacy wouldn’t discuss her dating life, her reaction suggested that she might be too.

Johnie and Chris’ love story was far from ordinary. Johnie initially turned Chris down in the pods in favor of a romance with Izzy. However, when Izzy chose to propose to Stacy instead of Johnie, she quickly changed her mind about Chris. Sadly, Chris wasn’t prepared to get engaged to Johnie in the pods after having his heart broken, so the pair left the competition separately.

When some of the cast reunited in episode 7, it was revealed that Johnie and Chris reconnected at the airport on their way home, and started dating right away. “You know we’re official?” she told her fellow contestants. “Just boyfriend-girlfriend.” The couple faced some pushback from Izzy and Stacy, but ultimately appeared to be solid.

In an interview with Today.com, Chris opened up about his relationship with Johnie, saying, “When you finally meet somebody that you have that kind of emotional bond with, that you’ve fallen in love with, you don’t just mess that up because of something outside of your control.” As for not getting engaged to Johnie in the pods, Chris told the publication, “I did fall in love… Unfortunately, there were some speed bumps that pulled me away from that ending.”

Chris and Johnie’s relationship wasn’t the fairytale they hoped it would be. Soon after they started dating, Johnie found out that Chris had started seeing someone else without telling her. “I didn’t handle the situation as someone would properly,” Chris explained at the reunion. “But I did find someone who I now live with and I love and we’re very happy together, and I’m sorry if that hurts to hear.”

He continued, “It was a lot of stress for me and we went opposite ways.” Chris admitted that he did cheat on Johnie. As for how Johnie found out about Chris’ new relationship, she explained, “My friend saw him with the other girl and told me.” Johnie revealed that she blamed herself for not putting Chris first in the pods. She also noted that she was in a new relationship with someone else.

Taylor and JP

In the pods, Taylor and JP seemed perfect together. However, the problems seemingly started as soon as the pair met in the person for the first time after JP proposed in episode 2. An awkward vacation to Mexico followed, during which the American flag-wearing JP became uncommunicative, leading Taylor to doubt their connection.

Things went from bad to worse for the couple when JP made some comments about Taylor’s appearance during a tense conversation. “I understand you tried to present yourself, and look as best you could, but I feel like if you would’ve presented yourself like this, without any makeup, it would have been better,” he told her. And as if that wasn’t bad enough, he proceeded to tell her, “It felt like you were fake.”

During an interview with Tudum, Taylor addressed JP’s comments, saying, “I would never leave somebody just based off of an opinion that they had. I’m all about compromise.” She continued, “I probably could have relaxed on the makeup a little bit if we would’ve stayed together, but I had one foot in the door and one foot out the door that night on the bed.” While the makeup comments weren’t necessarily a dealbreaker for Taylor, it seems that she already wasn’t 100 percent sure about her relationship with JP.

Explaining himself, JP told Tudum, “She took it as an insult, but I was trying to be genuine and say, ‘Hey, I think you look really pretty without makeup, and if you’re trying to impress me, you don’t really need the whole facade to make yourself look good for me.’ But it didn’t come off that way.”

However, it’s clear that JP made Taylor question herself, which is never okay. “I’m not going to change who I am for anybody,” she told Tudum. “You’re going to love me with my makeup on, and you’re going to love me without my makeup on. That shouldn’t determine anything.” Basically, these two just weren’t meant to be.

During the reunion, JP claimed that he was extremely nervous being filmed 24/7, which made him clam up with Taylor. “I feel like I did try,” Taylor retorted. “I like was basically pulling things out of him in Mexico and it was still not enough.” Taylor also said she didn’t think JP was attracted to her and that he “belittled her.”

JP apologized for his comments about Taylor’s makeup and said that he thought she was more beautiful without it. He also revealed that he’d been dating someone new for a year, while Taylor said she was dating a new person too.

Aaliyah and Uche

Netflix

Aaliyah and Uche’s Love Is Blind journey was more than a little complicated. After hitting it off in the pods, the couple’s relationship was put to the test when it was revealed that Uche had dated fellow contestant Lydia prior to joining the show. To make matters worse, Lydia was Aaliyah’s closest confidante throughout the experiment, putting her in an exceedingly awkward position.

While Aaliyah left the pods before Uche could propose, the pair did reunite in person in episodes 6 and 7. “I do regret, I regret leaving you like that,” Aaliyah told Uche at their meeting. “I do love you. Like, never felt the connection that you and I have with any other man.” She also told him that she’d marry him, if given the chance. Uche proceeded to explain his former relationship with Lydia, revealing that some of her behavior had freaked him out. Despite his candor, viewers were left thinking that Uche and Aaliyah had decided not to move forward with their romance.

Surprisingly, Uche and Aaliyah didn’t really go their separate ways after meeting for the first time. During an interview with Hanging with the Hamiltons, Aaliyah dished that they’d actually decided to try dating after the show for approximately a month, but it ended up being too difficult. “It just didn’t work out,” she explained. It seems as though there was some deceitful editing on Netflix’s part, with Aaliyah and Uche’s decision to date in real life being scrubbed from the season. But either way, the couple’s romance was fairly short-lived.

Uche didn’t appear at the reunion, but Aaliyah revealed that she’d since moved on and had met someone else. The entire cast suggested that Uche seemed a little too obsessed with Lydia and Milton’s relationship, even after the show had ended.
