Meghan Markle Wears Chic Salt-And-Pepper Poncho to Kevin Costner’s Fundraiser
On Friday, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry attended the One805LIVE! Fall 2023 charity fundraiser in Santa Barbara, California, hosted by Kevin Costner on his beachfront estate. The event raises money for the first responder community to offer them mental health support. It was headlined this year by band Maroon 5.
In a video from the organization on Instagram, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex can be seen presenting their host with an award. Meghan was clad in a black-and-white patterned poncho coat with voluminous sleeves, a belted waist, and black trim. The coat’s wide collar was left open. She had her hair in a sleek bun, and wore gold earrings and her Cartier Tank watch, which previously belonged to Princess Diana. Beside her, Harry was dressed in a black suit over a black button-down.
Once Kostner accepted his award, he offered a short speech, saying to the attendees, “Good afternoon everyone. Now, I get asked a lot by my friends who have no manners, ‘Kev, what’s this place cost? What’s it worth?’ And I can just simply tell you on a day, like today, it’s worth every penny.”
He added, “That you’ll be here to celebrate people you’ll never maybe meet. The ones who are the first to rush in. And it’s a place that I’ve had a lot of good luck in my life and I’ve tried to not throw up a wall around it, so thank you for coming.”
Also at the event was star Oprah Winfrey, who addressed the crowd with first responder Sam Dudley and his service dog Rhonda. She sang praises for One805 and their work towards helping first responders. Oprah wore an oversized white sweater with a large collar over a pair of black slacks.
