Taylor Swift Stoked Travis Kelce Dating Rumors With a Subtle Necklace
Unlike her rumored maybe-love interest, NFL player Travis Kelce, Taylor Swift hasn’t commented on dating reports and speculation yet, at least verbally. Fans noticed that the star may have added to the dating gossip and given a subtle nod to Kelce with a necklace she wore on September 8 while out in New York City.
Per Page Six, Swift wore Foundrae’s Forever & Always a Pair Pendant, which has an opal teardrop stone on it. Opal is Kelce’s birth stone; he is a Libra who will celebrate his 34th birthday on October 5. She paired the necklace with Foundrae’s Sister Hook Heavy Belcher Chain Choker.
The Forever & Always a Pair pendant, per Foundrae’s site, has an interesting meaning, given Kelce and Swift’s potential romantic connection and Swift’s love of dropping sometimes sartorial easter eggs. (For those astrologically-inclined, Libra and Sagittarius are a good romantic match.)
The necklace “represents Love,” according to Foundrae’s site description. “Each pair comes at a time in our lives when something just feels right. These pairs of pears, we absorb them, fuse them into our own hearts, and our heart grows as a result. It’s those pairs we choose to keep; friends, lovers, family, chosen family, a part of our heart forever. Forever and always, perpetually, and unceasingly bound.”
Timeline-wise, reports of Swift and Kelce spending time together first came out days later on September 12. A source told The Messenger that “Taylor and Travis have been quietly hanging out. She saw him when she was in NYC a few weeks ago.”
That same day, a source told Entertainment Tonight that Kelce and Swift were not “officially dating.” That source did not deny the report that they are spending time together though.
So far, Kelce has managed to skillfully divert questions about him and Swift to inquiring parties. When asked about him trying to give her his number on a friendship bracelet, Kelce said, “I said what I said. And I meant what I said when I said it. And you know what, it is what it is.”
He added that he would not be saying anything more about her on-air. “I’m not gonna talk about my personal life. I know what you writers wanna hear, and you wanna hear more about that, and I’m not gonna give you anything.”
