All About Doja Cat’s Boyfriend J. Cyrus
Though neither one of them have confirmed their relationship, pop star Doja Cat has been seen quite frequently with her rumored boyfriend Jeffrey “J” Cyrus in recent months. She has received quite a bit of scrutiny for her apparent dating choice, as Cyrus has been accused of abuse and inappropriate conduct.
The pair were first seen together in November 2022, enjoying New York City, according to the Daily Mail. They were spotted in the city again in May 2023 after having dinner at celebrity hotspot Carbone, and then kissing on a yacht in Los Cabos, Mexico, in June.

Who is J. Cyrus?
Born in Louisiana and raised in New Orleans, Cyrus graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a degree in broadcast journalism. He went on to work in all kinds of media, finding success on various social platforms. The former Vine star is now a very successful Twitch streamer. Still, he is not without scandal and has been the subject of allegations of harassment, emotional abuse, and racism.
Most of his popular videos are comedy shorts or videos of him freestyle rapping with friends, and he currently posts them primarily on TikTok and Instagram. On YouTube, he has close to 60,000 followers. He’s also a musician, and released an album titled Sober in 2017.
Cyrus is in fact eight years sober, and posted about his sobriety journey in May to celebrate the milestone.
“Learned a lot of sh-t I don’t think a drunk me could fathom,” he wrote. “Very appreciative for those around me who championed my health and my family that gave me something to live for when I decided to give up alcohol 8 years ago.”
The accusations against Cyrus began in 2019 and 2020, when a number of young women came forward with stories of manipulation and abuse. The stories came out again when he and Doja Cat were rumored to be dating. Rolling Stone reported that he offered a now deleted apology.
“There is no excuse nor justification for my actions. I was careless. I was greedy. I was ignorant. I was disrespectful. And I was completely in the wrong,” Cyrus said. “In a position of power and trust, I gave into the temptations and attention of those who looked up to me. These women are special. They are strong. And they are worth so much more than me and my ignorance. And I failed to realize that when it mattered.”
Doja Cat has stated that she is not interested in the accusations or anyone’s opinion on who she is dating.
“I DON’T GIVE A F— WHAT YOU THINK ABOUT MY PERSONAL LIFE I NEVER HAVE AND NEVER WILL GIVE A F— WHAT YOU THINK ABOUT ME OR MY PERSONAL LIFE GOODBYE AND GOOD RIDDANCE MISERABLE HOES HAHA!” the singer wrote in July.
What has Doja Cat said about their relationship?
Aside from telling her fans to get out of her business, the 27-year-old musician talked about her dating life more vaguely in Harper’s Bazaar Icons issues for September 2023.
“I love love,” she said. “I’m possibly a serial dater. I definitely have had that in me a little bit… But right now I’m in a different place in my life where I am very committed and very much in love in a different way than before.”
She added, “I think I’ve evolved. I’m learning to love myself, so the way that I love other people is very different. I don’t feel like a lost little teen. I feel like a woman who is coming into her own.”
