Jennifer Lopez Gave Ben Affleck a Very Sweet Birthday Tribute on Instagram: ‘I Love You!’

Ben Affleck celebrated his 51st birthday yesterday, and his wife Jennifer Lopez gifted him and her 250 million other followers with a look into the couple’s private life together. Lopez shared a birthday tribute video of them singing together in the car. She wrote to Affleck, “Dear Ben … Happy Birthday. I love you!”

A source close to Affleck additionally spoke to People about how Affleck is doing as he starts a new year. “Everything is going well in his life,” the source said. “He is happy and content.”

Affleck is the more private member of the couple, not updating his own Instagram very frequently. But he has spoken glowingly about Lopez in interviews.

During an interview on the SmartLess podcast that aired in April, Affleck actually spoke about what it’s like singing in the car with his wife. “Here’s this incredible actress and this incredible performer,” he started, via Billboard. “And then we’re sitting in the car, you know, and I’m humming along, like I will, you know, to the radio. And then a professional singer goes ahead and sings along and you kind of feel like, ‘Well that’s embarrassing.’”

“I do love her music, it’s brilliant and I know all of it,” he continued, acknowledging he knows that Lopez’s “Dear Ben” (from 2002’s This Is Me…Then) and “Dear Ben Pt. II” (from her upcoming album This Is Me…Now) are about him.

“The songs that have been written about me have been written by the greatest performer in the history of the world, Jennifer Lopez,” he said. “I don’t know if they are exactly about me, as maybe inspired by me because there are some negative things in there. She’s amazing.”
