Jennie and BTS’ V Were Filmed Holding Hands in Paris After a Year of Dating Rumors

A K-pop super couple may have just outed themselves. Blackpink’s Jennie and BTS’ V (Kim Tae-hyung) were filmed holding hands while on a stroll in Paris, hinting publicly that they may be romantically involved after over a year of dating rumors.

French journalist Amar Taoualit posted footage of them walking in the French city on his TikTok. He confirmed to fans who asked him that it was indeed Jennie and V he saw walking along the Seine:

LaineyGossip reported the sighting as well, characterizing it as romantic confirmation as they showed PDA in such a public place.

Speculation Jennie and V were dating first began in December 2021 when V briefly followed and then unfollowed Jennie on Instagram.

Per All Kpop, V posted a message on Weverse shortly after and suggested it had been an accidental follow, shaking off the rumors quickly then. He asked, “Is there a way to get rid of the ‘recommended’ friends list here on this Insta thing?…. It’s a scary app.”

In May 2022, the dating rumors surfaced again when a photo that appeared to be Jennie and V driving on a Jeju island date appeared online. More personal photos of Jennie and V seemingly together on that trip and spending time together in different places leaked in August and September. For a full breakdown of the photos—and the little hints fans saw in them that linked V and Jennie together romantically—see here.

V and Jennie’s agencies notably did not deny dating rumors. Jennie’s agency YG Entertainment told press in May 2022 that “we have nothing to say [regarding this matter]. We will inform you if we have a different response to share.” V’s agency Big Hit Music did not comment.

YG Entertainment did release a statement in October, saying it would pursue legal action against those circulating private photos of Jennie. “We have refrained from mentioning the matter or making an official statement in order to minimize any further damage,” the agency said in its statement, per Korea JoongAng Daily. “However, there have been indiscriminate rumors, criticism, personal attacks, sexual harassment and violations of personal life sparked by those private photographs.”

The agency added it had already taken legal action against users who had shared “malicious posts, or those which repeatedly upload unconfirmed claims.”

“The photos [of Jennie] distributed online were made public illegally, without Jennie’s consent,” it continued. “Sharing those images is an act of secondary victimization and can be subject to legal penalty. Please refrain from indiscriminately sharing those images.”

Neither Jennie nor V have ever posted photos of each other or commented on their alleged relationship. This is pretty standard in K-pop especially. Most K-pop idols keep their romantic relationships completely hidden, so confirmation two idols are dating at all is exceptionally rare.

Jennie is in France to promote The Idol, which will be having its premiere at the Cannes Film Festival. Her bandmate Rosé attended the festival today.
