First Lady Jill Biden, Winnie Harlow, Julia Fox, and More Celebrated ELLE’s 2023 Women of Impact

Neither rain nor D.C. traffic could keep guests from gathering on Friday night to celebrate ELLE’s first-ever Impact issue. The event kicked off White House Correspondents’ Dinner weekend and honored the magazine’s 2023 Women of Impact portfolio, featuring women who are making their mark on the world right now—including several of the night’s attendees: designer Elena Velez; history-making congresswoman Mary Peltola; civil rights activist Amanda Nguyen; abortion fund leader Oriaku Njoku; and mental health advocate and First Daughter Ashley Biden, whose mom, First Lady Jill Biden, stopped by to support her daughter. Speaking to their accomplishments, ELLE executive editor Sara Austin told the crowd: “Impact is not just the positive change that we make today. It is the way those actions take root and spread branches and last sometimes for generations. Our Women of Impact honorees have planted their trees.”

All the guests, including Julia Fox, Winnie Harlow, Gisele Fetterman, Sen. Amy Klobuchar, and Meena Harris, cozied up—and escaped the weather—at Vinoda Basnayake’s Ciel Social Club rooftop bar, which was decorated with the city’s signature cherry blossoms. Wander + Ivy provided party-ready single-serve wine bottles while Barton Perreira hosted a sunglasses activation station and Guerlain gifted guests with a beauty surprise at the end of the evening. Ahead, a few shots from throughout the night.
