The Best Dressed Guests at Maison de Mode’s 2023 Sustainable Style Awards

Last night—on Earth Day, no less—ethical fashion platform Maison de Mode held its 6th annual Sustainable Style Awards at the 1 Hotel West Hollywood. Hosted by co-founder and CEO Hassan Pierre and chief brand officer Amanda Hearst, the event celebrates sustainability in the industry and invites top luxury and independent fashion houses to create one-of-a-kind, eco-friendly looks for those invited. Last year’s honorees included model-turned-designer Carolyn Murphy and Brother Vellies’ Aurora James.

The event kicked off in the property’s Melrose Space, where guests sipped seasonal cocktails made with Clase Azul Tequila Gold and glasses of Champagne Lallier; afterward, a three-course plant-based dinner was served, followed by date and coconut truffles for dessert paired with low-ABV BODY Vodka dirty martinis. The evening culminated with the presentation of two awards, including the Sustainable Style Award and the Impact Award. The first was given to singer Leona Lewis, who uses her platform to support sustainable initiatives and animal welfare. The Grammy award nominee even owns a 53-acre animal sanctuary in the U.K.

The Impact Award was handed out to Cyrill Gutsch, a product designer and founder of Parley for the Oceans, a global network that brings together creators, thinkers, and leaders to raise awareness about the urgent need to protect our oceans through education and outreach programs.

And seeing as it was an evening dedicated to sustainable fashion, attendees stepped out looking their finest. Click through our gallery below for a glimpse at the best dressed guests.
