Keanu Reeves and Girlfriend Alexandra Grant Share a Kiss On the Red Carpet

On Saturday night, Keanu Reeves walked the red carpet with longtime girlfriend Alexandra Grant at the Museum of Contemporary Art Gala in Los Angeles. Reeves was dressed in a classic black suit with a white button-down and a diagonally striped tie and a pair of brown leather shoes. Grant wore a bright red dress patterned with a floral print featuring a high halter neckline.

They paused to share a sweet kiss in front of photographers.

The couple met at a dinner party in 2009 and worked on two art books together: first on Reeves’ 2011 book Ode To Happiness, which Grant illustrated. This was his first work as an author. For his second book in 2016, Shadows, Grant contributed artwork again.

The pair have been very private about their relationship since getting together, but they went red carpet official for the LACMA Art + Film Gala in early November 2019. The decision to go public reportedly came from Reeves, who wanted to be open about his connection to Grant after ten years of friendship and dating. Grant told British Vogue a few months later that she received an enormous amount of attention afterwards.

“I think every single person I knew called me in the first week of November, and that’s fascinating,” she said.

In an interview in 2020, she was asked about the prospect of marriage, and said, “Love at every level is deeply important to my identity. How’s that for dodging the question?”

In an interview in March, Reeves was asked about his “last moment of bliss” and immediately thought of Grant.

“A couple of days ago with my honey,” he said of his girlfriend. “We were in bed. We were connected. We were smiling and laughing and giggling. Feeling great. It was just really nice to be together.”
