The Biggest Bombshells From Harry & Meghan Volume 2
Harry & Meghan‘s second volume is here, and Prince Harry and Meghan Markle didn’t hold back discussing why they left their senior royal family roles and are glad to have created the life they have away from the UK in Montecito, CA.
The tabloids’ treatment of them, along with the Palace’s lack of protection, were big factors. The couple spilled a little, too, about royal family jealousy and Prince William betraying Harry to brief against him and Meghan.
Even when discussing going back to the UK for Prince Philip’s funeral earlier this year, Harry conceded that he is having to accept his family isn’t sorry abut what happened to them. “It was hard [being back there], especially spending time having chats with my brother and my father who were very much focused on the same misinterpretation of the whole situation [of the Sussexes leaving],” Harry said. “None of us really wanted to have to talk about it at my grandfather’s funeral, but we did. And I’ve had to make peace with the fact that we’re probably never going to get a genuine accountability or a genuine apology. My wife and I, we’re moving on. We’re focused on what’s coming next.”
“I miss the weird family gatherings when we’re all sort of brought together under one roof for certain times of the year,” Harry said later of what he misses. “Being part of the institution meant that I was in the UK. So I miss the UK. I miss my friends. I’ve lost a few friends in this process as well.”
“There’s times when I’ve been angry, but I can’t be that angry because I genuinely feel that I, and we, are exactly where we’re supposed to be,” he added in the last episode’s final minutes. “We’ve made it to the other side.”
