Kate Middleton Wears a Sleek Burgundy Suit in Boston After the Harry and Meghan Documentary Trailer Release
Amid a royal family racism scandal in the U.K. and the release of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s documentary trailer, Kate Middleton and Prince William kicked off the second day of their Boston tour by just keeping the focus on their work, and adhering to the family’s “never complain, never explain” mantra.
The Princess of Wales stepped out in a sleek burgundy suit and pale pink bow blouse for her visit to Greentown Labs, North America’s largest clean-tech incubator. She and William are in the States to attend the Earthshot Prize Awards in Boston on Friday.
Last night, Kate and William attended an NBA game, remarkably dressed up. Kate paired a vintage Chanel blue blazer with black pants and Gianvito Rossi heels.
She wore a tartan Burberry dress along with a green tailored Alexander McQueen coat earlier that day to meet Mayor Michelle Wu at Boston’s city hall, and made her debut appearance at the city’s airport wearing a purple Alexander McQueen suit with a navy turtleneck and Gianvito Rossi heels.
The couple shared a rare statement upon arriving in Boston for their overseas visit, where William discussed his feelings doing a royal tour for the first time following the Queen’s passing.
Catherine and I are delighted to be back in the United States and are extremely grateful to Governor Baker and The First Lady of Massachusetts for their warm welcome into Boston.
On this, our first overseas visit since the death of my grandmother, I would like to thank the people of Massachusetts and particularly of Boston for their many tributes paid to the late Queen. She remembered her 1976 bicentennial visit with great fondness.
My grandmother was one of life’s optimists. And so am I. That is why last year we launched The Earthshot Prize with the ambition to create a truly global platform to inspire hope and urgent optimism as we look to save the future of our planet.
To the people of Boston, thank you. I’m so grateful to you for allowing us to host the second year of The Earthshot Prize in your great city. Catherine and I can’t wait to meet many of you in the days ahead.
Their spokesperson addressed the racism scandal, saying that while the couple was not at the event where the incident took place, “Racism has no place in our society. The comments were unacceptable, and it is right that the individual has stepped aside with immediate effect.”
Neither the couple nor their spokesperson has addressed Meghan and Harry’s project yet.
