All About Gabriella Brooks, Liam Hemsworth’s Girlfriend of Three Years

After announcing his split from then-wife Miley Cyrus, Liam Hemsworth quietly got serious with model Gabriella Brooks, who has been his girlfriend for three years. The two have kept a low profile but faced breakup rumors in August 2022. The couple has yet to address them.

Hemsworth was first linked to Brooks in December 2019, marking his first major relationship since his August 2019 divorce from Miley Cyrus. In October of that year, he was spotted showing PDA with model/actress Maddison Brown in the West Village. It’s unclear what caused that courtship to end.

In August 2022, rumors surfaced the two may have quietly broken up.

Page Six reported that Hemsworth and Brooks may have ended their romance after three years of dating based on a report InTouch ran. A source claimed to InTouch that Hemsworth broke up with Brooks “couple of months ago,” leaving her “heartbroken.” The source alleged, “He didn’t want to be tied down and work has picked up since the pandemic ended.” That said, Hemsworth and Brooks still follow each other on Instagram and have always kept a low profile. His rep did not respond to Page Six‘s request for comment.

They went Instagram official in June 2021.

After remaining private on Instagram, the couple showed up in two photos together on Hemsworth’s grid from the Gold Dinner, a charity event, in Sydney. Many commenters posted that they briefly thought Brooks looked like Jennifer Lawrence.

In January 2021, the couple was getting serious and going strong after close to 18 months of dating.

After a year of dating, a source tells E! that Brooks “brings out the best” in Hemsworth. “His relationship with Gabriella is very different from Miley,” the insider explained. “They like the same things and have the same lifestyle.” The source went on to say that while Hemsworth’s 10-year relationship with Cyrus was “a rollercoaster of highs and lows” that “Gabriella is very laid back and even keeled.”

If that weren’t enough, she has more than bonded with the Hemsworth family, per the source. “The family very much approves and likes having her around,” the insider told E!. “They are happy for Liam that he has found someone that brings out the best in him.”

Us Weekly previously confirmed that Brooks had first met Hemsworth’s parents in Australia in 2019 and that she had earned his family’s support. “Liam feels comfortable with Gabriella,” a source told the outlet. “His family approves of her and really likes her, which is very important to him.” New Idea captured the first photos of the pair kissing on the beach in January 2020.

Around that time, a source told People that Brooks and Hemsworth were “getting serious.” The insider explained, “Liam and Gabriella have spent a lot of time in Australia together. Gabriella has met Liam’s siblings and his parents.” According to the source, the couple has a lot of shared activities, including exercising, surfing, and relaxing at the beach and Hemsworth’s friends approve.

By March 2020, an E! insider said Hemsworth is “excited about dating Gabriella,” adding, “His family really likes her and they have a normal relationship without drama.” The source also said that their personalities are compatible. “They can both just completely be themselves and take things at face value,” the insider said. “She’s low key and down-to-earth. So far it’s been very easy and fun.”

Although the couple’s relationship has been mostly private, the pair went semi-Instagram official in November 2020. To mark Luke Hemsworth’s 40th birthday, the whole family convented for a 1920s-themed party in Australia. Chris Hemsworth shared a black-and-white photo of the day to Instagram, which included Liam and Gabriella’s first official IG appearance. A source told Entertainment Tonight in April 2020 that Hemsworth’s relationship with Brooks really helped him get over the pain from his breakup and divorce from his last partner of 10 years, Miley Cyrus.

“While Liam’s family has been a huge support since the breakup with Miley, it was Gabriella who made him realize there is life after Miley,” the source said. “Gabriella is quiet, low key. She loves to be alone with Liam and isn’t seeking attention from others. Gabriella is young but adores him. She gets along with his parents and his closest friends. The moment they started dating, they had incredible chemistry.”

After Cyrus addressed her split from Hemsworth on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast in September, a source spoke to Us Weekly about how Brooks feels regarding Cyrus.”They’re both secure in their relationship and Gabriella isn’t worried that Liam has any lingering feelings for Miley and isn’t intimidated by their relationship,” the insider said. “Liam and Gabriella are really close and feel comfortable with one another. They connect over important topics and share the same values about family and life.”

The source went on to say that the couple is “going strong and have been quarantining together and enjoying their time in Byron Bay,” adding, “Liam has some movie projects coming up and is happy to be living in Australia and being able to spend his downtime with Gabriella.”

Brooks may have adopted a puppy with Hemsworth.

If a report from the Daily Mail is to be believed, Brooks and Hemsworth may have adopted a French bulldog puppy together. The outlet published photos of the couple enjoying a day of shopping. At one point, Brooks reportedly headed into a food market while Hemsworth stayed in the car with the puppy. This would be the pair’s first pet together. Hemsworth previously shared even dogs, two horses, two mini horses, three cats and a pig with Cyrus.

She has met members of the Hemsworth family.

It’s unknown when exactly Brooks and Hemsworth began dating, but she’s met the parents. According to the Daily Mail, Hemsworth introduced Brooks to his father Craig and mother Leonie over lunch in Byron Bay, Australia on December 13, 2019. Photos show the 22-year-old smiling and hugging members of the family, alongside Hemsworth, before sitting down to a meal.

If Brooks’s Instagram activity is any indication, this account of events could be true. Last November 30, she captioned a series of photos, “Byron <3,” suggesting she’d been spending time in the area.

In July 2020, Brooks and Hemsworth were spotted hanging at Byron Bakery with the actor’s older brother, Chris, by the Daily Mail.

She’s a fellow Aussie.

According to ELLE U.K., Brooks also calls Australia home. She’s reportedly based in Sydney, studying ancient history and archaeology at Sydney University. A source told E! in March that the pair’s shared home country has brought them closer. “The Australia connection is definitely nice for both of them,” the source said. “She wants to be in Australia just as much as he does, and they both really enjoy being there and spending time with family and friends. He doesn’t feel like he is being pulled away.”

Brown, the last person Hemsworth was tied to, also hails from Down Under. As for their short-lived romance, a source told Us Weekly, “Liam and Maddison weren’t that serious and were mainly having fun together.”

According to the Daily Mail, Brooks is represented by modeling agencies Storm, Priscilla, and Next. In a January interview with It’s Now Cool, she says that she was scouted and signed at the age of 14. She’s modeled in campaigns for brands including Topshop, Calvin Klein, and Solid & Striped.

She used to date 1975 lead singer Matt Healy.

Like Hemsworth, Brooks is reportedly coming off of a long-term relationship. Over the summer, The Sun reported that Brooks and 1975 frontman Matt Healy split after nearly four years together. The outlet noted that while the couple made their public debut at the 2017 Brit Awards, they are believed to have been together since 2015. According to The Sun‘s source, there was “strain on their relationship, not helped by him being on tour a lot this year.” As for their breakup, the insider claimed, “He parties a lot at home when he’s there and Gabby had just had enough. Initially, neither Hemsworth or Brooks follow each other on Instagram. This led to breakup rumors in May 2020, with the Daily Mail citing that Hemsworth had unfollowed Brooks. But it isn’t clear if these two ever followed each other to begin with. And in the months since that report, the couple has been spotted in Australia together.

Brooks has discussed meeting Hemsworth’s family.

In an interview with Stellar magazine in early December 2021, Brooks spoke about meeting the Hemsworths and what a great family they are, while also speaking to her reluctance to go super public with her relationship.

“My personal relationship is very, very important and very sacred to me… And I feel like in an industry where so much is put out on show, there are some things you just want to keep to yourself,” she said. “I completely understand [the interest in her relationship]. But at the end of the day, I guess I just like having that for me.”

Brooks then continued to say a little bit about Hemsworth, despite her reluctance.

”But he’s great. They [the Hemsworths] are great. They are the most beautiful people and I’m very lucky to know them.”

She also confirmed that she and Hemsworth have moved back to Los Angeles together.

On Sunday, December 26, Hemsworth posted several photos of Brooks and himself enjoying a skiing and snowboarding vacation on his Instagram stories. The Daily Mail reports that the couple were traveling with Chris Hemsworth and his wife Elsa Pataky. They are supposedly somewhere in Europe for the Christmas holidays.

Pataky even shared a series of photos that included a group shot with Brooks up on the mountain.

In another clip, Pataky showed the brothers rough housing a bit before she herself gets shoved into the snow while her kids play around them.
