Selena Gomez Channeled the ’60s in a Yellow Mini Dress As Her Co-stars Addressed Her Emmys Snub

Selena Gomez spent Emmys nomination day in London, promoting Rare Beauty’s new Kind Words Matte lipsticks and lip liners after visiting Paris and Milan, too. The Only Murders in the Building actress had a major fashion moment there on the same day her colleagues and co-stars, Steve Martin and Martin Short, addressed how dismayed they were that she didn’t receive an Emmys acting nomination like them.

Sartorially, Gomez wore a ’60s-esque yellow mini dress in the U.K. city. She had her dark brown hair styled in a half-up bouffant and further evoked the era with her cats-eye makeup.

While Gomez did not get nominated in the lead actress category for this year’s Emmys, she did still make history as part of the show’s producing team, which received a nomination for outstanding comedy series. Gomez, who is an executive producer for the show, is the second-ever Latina to be a producing nominee for a comedy in Emmys history.

Gomez hasn’t commented on her Emmys acting snub. But her co-stars Steve Martin and Martin Short didn’t hold back discussing how disappointed they were that her performance wasn’t recognized the way theirs were, as both received leading actor Emmy nods.

Martin told Variety, We’re very happy we got a lot of nominations. We’re a little dismayed that Selena [Gomez] didn’t get nominated because she’s so crucial to the trio, to the show. She kind of balances us. In fact, in some ways you can say that we got nominated because of her balance in the show. But we’re happy that she is nominated as executive producer on the show. She’s a big asset for us.”

He and Short added that they hadn’t spoken with her since nominations came out. “I think I keep seeing her tweeting from Europe,” Martin said.

“I think she’s in Europe,” Short agreed.

“And you know, the communication is so slow, I think it takes five days to get a letter there,” Martin quipped.
