Julia Roberts Debuts ‘Hot Honey Blonde’ Hair
From her wild Pretty Woman waves to her recent signature feathered bangs, Julia Roberts is no stranger to a scene-stealing hair moment. Whether it’s a set of copper curls or a warm chocolate tint, we’d be hard-pressed to find a shape or hue that Roberts couldn’t pull off effortlessly.
So is it any surprise that her latest hair transformation, which taps into the “hot honey blonde” we’ve seen everywhere this summer, suits her so well? “Hot honey” is a gilded, medium blonde that sits on the warmer side of the hair color spectrum, though it doesn’t run brassy or copper.
Like the peppered elixir, it features threads of color variation throughout, like ribbons of light, and a soft shadow root that creates a sense of dimension. It’s been seen everywhere this summer, from Sarah Pidgeon, who shifted into the shade from her previously brightened blonde, to Beyoncé and Blue Ivy.
Elsewhere, Doja Cat opted for a sandier take on the look, while Blake Lively and Gigi Hadid, longtime poster girls for the trend, refreshed their tones with tousled, bouncy blow-dries.
“Honey-wheat, neutral-warm, and expensive-looking yet seamless, this color is neither icy nor brassy,” hairstylist and forecaster Tom Smith previously told ELLE. “Somewhere between champagne and golden, it’s hard to determine the exact highlight pattern or technique used because it blends so naturally.”
Roberts, 58, was photographed in New York on September 10, attending the opening of Moncler’s Fifth Avenue flagship store.
The store marks the brand’s largest global flagship and is spread across two floors, designed by Gilles & Boissier. It houses Moncler’s first made-to-order atelier, as well as a New York-exclusive LoveFrom capsule collection.
