From vision to reality: NAS Nkawkaw Office complex takes shape

Work on the construction of a new office complex for the National Ambulance Service (NAS) has progressed steadily over the past months and is now taking shape.

Just a few metres off the busy Accra–Kumasi highway, where it is strategically located, one can clearly see the newly installed green roof — an aesthetic reassurance of the prospects of enhanced and swift emergency response to road traffic accidents and more.

The pace at which the electrical wiring, switches, sockets and plumbing fixtures are being executed is quite impressive, and the building could be completed on schedule.

Historically, the Nkawkaw station was the first to be established in the Eastern Region in 2004, and among the first piloted stations during the inception of the National Ambulance Service in Ghana.

Presently, the station lacks adequate office accommodation and infrastructure essential for efficient operational and administrative work.

This new building is a monumental achievement for the Kwahu West Municipal Assembly, under the leadership of the MCE, Hon. Tamimu Halidu, and the Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr. Daniel Nkrumah.

The Accra–Kumasi highway records a high incidence of road traffic accidents, and this intervention will significantly bolster the service delivery of the National Ambulance Service in Nkawkaw, due to its proximity to the highway.
