THE RUNDOWN

  • Sydney Sweeney wore a sheer Giorgio Armani dress to the house’s Armani Beauty dinner in Venice last night.
  • The sultry ensemble nodded to one of her viral red carpet looks.
  • The actress hasn’t walked the film festival’s red carpet yet this year but made her debut there in 2022.

Sydney Sweeney hasn’t walked this year’s official Venice Film Festival red carpet yet, but the actress made an appearance at Armani Beauty’s dinner in the coastal Italian city last night. The star opted for a glitzy, sultry look, wearing a sheer, sleeveless Giorgio Armani dress covered in sequins with just a black thong underneath. The vintage piece, which she accessorized with Chopard jewelry, is from the house’s fall/winter 2000 collection.

The look harkens back to one of Sweeney’s most viral red carpet moments: when she wore a sheer silver dress from Christian Cowan and Elias Matso at Variety’s Power of Women gala in October 2025.

Sweeney made her Venice Film Festival debut in 2022, walking the red carpet with her Euphoria co-star Maude Apatow in matching black gowns:

The star hasn’t done many major interviews this year, but in January, she spoke to Cosmopolitan about the public’s perception of her appearance over time.

“I see photos comparing me to my child self all the time,” she said. “I’m like, ‘I was 14 in that image. I’m 28 now. Of course I look different—I grew up.’ I feel bad when I see accounts that are like, ‘Oh, she’s done X and Y to her face.’ It’s not true. I’ve never gotten any work done. I wish there was something in place on social media to restrict things that aren’t true, because there are girls who will look at me and say, ‘I need to do these things to feel pretty.’ It makes me sad.”

She also addressed being hypersexualized by some, sharing it’s why she started her lingerie line, Syrn: “This is me reclaiming my body and my narrative and using it to empower other women.”
