When Issa Rae’s Insecure premiered in 2016, it was a smash success. The show—loved by many for navigating relationships, careers, and identity in Black millennial adulthood—served as one of the defining programs of the decade and still continues to be relevant in today’s pop culture landscape.

Rae is now working on creating her next hit: This time, it’s a brand-new show that will focus on friendships through the male perspective. The new series, titled Untitled Male Friendship Show, is in the earliest stages of development at HBO. Here’s what we know about the series ahead of its release.

Rae’s Insecure collaborator, Prentice Penny, will work with her on the show as showrunner, executive producer, and pilot director. Jax Clark will also executive produce for Rae’s Hoorae Media, her independent media production company, alongside A Penny For Your Thoughts and Jonathan Berry and Dave Becky for 3 Arts Entertainment, Deadline confirmed.

Per Deadline, Untitled Male Friendship Show will follow “a 30-year-old barber, aspiring sports manager, and professional best friend to JB, an up-and-coming boxer, as they navigate ambition, insecurity, loneliness, and the double-edged sword of success within the high-stakes world of professional boxing in Las Vegas.”

No details have been released about members of the cast yet, but they will likely arrive once the show moves out of the preproduction phase.

Not yet, but Rae has a pilot written for the show.
