These Chic Heels Passed My All-Day Comfort Test

Finding comfortable heels has always been a challenge for me. I’ve come to accept that I have particularly sensitive feet: most new pairs require a trial run at home, and even then, they often leave me aching by midday—blisters included. So when I set out to build a collection of heels I wouldn’t have to think twice about, I wasn’t entirely sure where to start beyond a few tried-and-true favorites. Most recently, I tried Inez’s new Gia in the punchy Rojo Capretto shade. The thong-style sandal offers extra support thanks to an additional strap across the middle of the foot, making it feel far more secure than a typical heeled flip-flop . The heel itself is the perfect height: I barely notice the shoe on my foot, but it still gives me that feminine, pulled-together feeling. I then gave one of the brand’s taller styles a chance in my hunt for a comfortable statement shoe: the Alta in party-ready Silver Metallic. To my surprise, it’s one of the comfiest pumps I’ve tried. I typically have to forgo closed-toe pumps altogether, but these made me feel perfectly stable, thanks in part to contoured inner cushioning that supports the arches. They look dazzling with everything from dark-wash denim to sundresses and cocktail-ready silhouettes. And after wearing both styles on long days over the past few weeks, I can confirm they’re comfortable enough for hours on your feet and treks through city streets—making them ideal for office days and versatile enough for desk-to-dinner plans.
