Your Guide to the Cast of Stranger Things Season 5

Finn Wolfhard (It, When You Finish Saving the World) plays Mike Wheeler, a high schooler in Hawkins, Indiana with a group of trusted friends. He first encountered Eleven in season 1, and four seasons later, they’re gearing up to fight the monster Vecna together. He has an older sister, Nancy, and a younger sister, Holly.

Millie Bobby Brown (Enola Holmes, Damsel) plays Eleven, a young girl with psychic powers who escaped from a secret government facility at the start of the series. She could be the key to defeating Vecna.

Caleb McLaughlin (Concrete Cowboy, The Deliverance) plays Lucas Sinclair, a member of Mike’s friend group who is in an on-and-off relationship with Max (Sadie Sink). He also has a younger sister named Erica.

Gaten Matarazzo (Honor Society, Animal Farm) plays Dustin Henderson, a member of the gang who enters season 5 grieving his friend Eddie, who perished last season. He also has a sweet brother-like relationship with Steve.

Noah Schnapp (The Tutor, Abe) plays Will Byers, a member of the friend group who was kidnapped to the Upside Down in season 1. He has an older brother named Jonathan and lives with his mother, Joyce.

Winona Ryder (Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, Black Swan) plays Joyce Byers, Will and Jonathan’s mom.

David Harbour (Hellboy, Black Widow) plays Jim Hopper, the police chief and Eleven’s adoptive father.

Sadie Sink (The Whale, A Sacrifice) plays Max Mayfield, who was nearly killed by the monster Vecna and ended season 4 in a coma.

Natalia Dyer plays Nancy Wheeler, Mike’s older sister, who has turned out to be a sharpshooter. She’s in a relationship with Jonathan, though she used to date Steve.

Joe Keery (Free Guy, Spree) plays Steve Harrington, who protects the main friend group as their “babysitter.”

Maya Hawke (Inside Out 2, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood) plays Robin Buckley, one of Steve’s friends who ends up joining the group.

Charlie Heaton (The New Mutants, Shut In) plays Jonathan Byers, Will’s brother and Nancy’s boyfriend.

Jamie Campbell Bower (Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, Twilight) plays Vecna, the Upside Down monster who was once Henry Creel.

Nell Fisher (Evil Dead Rise) joins season 5 as Mike and Nancy’s sister Holly, who starts exhibiting some strange behavior.

Cara Buono (Mad Men, The Sopranos) plays Karen Wheeler, Mike, Nancy, and Holly’s mom.

Priah Ferguson (The Curse of Bridge Hollow, The Oath) plays Erica Sinclair, Lucas’s younger sister.

Brett Gelman (Fleabag, Lemon) plays Murray Bauman, a former journalist who tried to expose a Russian conspiracy at Hawkins Lab. The kids eventually turn to him for help in season 2.

Linda Hamilton (The Terminator, Children of the Corn) joins season 5 as Dr. Kay, a scientist who’s on the hunt for Eleven.

Alex Breaux (Before the World Set on Fire, Joe Pickett) also joins the season 5 cast as Lieutenant Akers, a member of the military who teams up with Dr. Kay to find Eleven.
