As Wicked: For Good’s press tour begins in earnest, co-stars and offscreen couple Ariana Grande and Ethan Slater have, for the most part, gone about their promotion separately. At today’s London premiere, they posed for a group photo but stood far apart, Slater on the left and Grande in the middle. In her recent New York Times interview, Grande did not discuss her love life, and the outlet described Slater as someone she “dated.”
Despite the ongoing fan and tabloid speculation about their current relationship status, Grande and Slater themselves have signaled they remain strong and supportive of each other on Instagram. They have liked practically every post the other has shared:

Grande spoke to The New York Times about her relationship with A-list fame. “Nothing prepares you for what comes with it,” she said. “Until quite recently, it was really hard for me to navigate, and I think it stripped a lot of joy out of this for me.”
Grande and Slater have been together since summer 2023. In September 2024, she spoke to Vanity Fair about the attention her love life has garnered, saying, “It definitely doesn’t get any easier, seeing some of the negativity that was birthed by disreputable tabloids. Of course, I went through a lot of life changes during the filming of this movie. A lot of people that were working on it did. We were away for two years. So, of course, I understand why it was a field day for the tabloids to sort of create something that paid their bills.”
She also praised Slater’s character, saying, “No one on this earth tries harder or spreads themselves thinner to be there for the people that he loves and cares about. There is no one on this earth with a better heart, and that is something that no bullshit tabloid can rewrite in real life.” Her comments to the outlet remain her most extensive about her partner.
The two stars have largely kept their relationship out of the public eye this year.
