- She also explained why she’s hesitant to talk too much about their wedding.
Taylor Swift has spoken in multiple interviews over the last week about Travis Kelce’s proposal, detailing how he managed to distract her long enough to have his backyard transformed into a secret garden where he popped the question. She has shared a lot of the story but will never reveal all of it, the singer told Ryan Seacrest on On Air With Ryan Seacrest.
“I share so much of our relationship with the world that the [proposal] moment that that happened, it’s like, I’ll have it forever and that will always be mine,” she began. “There’s so much that is shared with the world…[because] we’re both very public facing people and both of our career paths involve entertaining people.”
She and Kelce accept the public interest in their love story, though Swift admitted she is still learning where to draw the line on what she shares: “We’re very kind of relaxed about things in a way, but we also have to—I gotta figure out ways to make sure that I do have things that are just between us. And thankfully, we do have a lot of those things, and that moment in particular, is one that’s always just going to be ours.”
She added, “I remember everything [that happened].”
Swift told Seacrest that she and Kelce kept the engagement news to themselves for “about two weeks.” She’s also trying to be mindful of how much she discusses their upcoming nuptials. “I definitely feel like when I talk about the wedding, I get so excited that it makes me just wanna…talk about it for like an hour, but it’s just sort of like, I won’t stop talking if I start.”
Overall, she said, “I’m so happy. Thank you for being excited for us because I’m excited for us, too.”
