The Reason Taylor Swift Is Missing Travis Kelce’s Game Against the Jacksonville Jaguars

Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs are playing the Jacksonville Jaguars at their home stadium tonight in Jacksonville, Florida. Kelce’s fiancée, Taylor Swift, hasn’t been seen at the sporting event—but fans know the reason why: Swift is filming her appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon this evening in New York City.
Kelce arrived on his own, and his mother, Donna Kelce, was spotted at the game as well. Swift was on her mind, as she wore a pin referencing the singer’s tweaked “Karma” lyric, “Karma is the guy on the Chiefs,” in reference to Kelce.
Swift’s team announced her promotional schedule last week, which includes two appearances on New York City talk shows. Swift will be Seth Meyers’s sole guest on Late Night With Seth Meyers this Wednesday.
On Kelce’s birthday yesterday, the couple appeared to spend the day apart. Swift was doing promotion in New York City, where she stopped at SiriusXM’s Morning Mash Up. TMZ reported that Kelce and his family were in Jacksonville, where they went to a showing of Swift’s The Official Release Party of a Showgirl.
Swift has quietly attended Kelce’s home games this season, most recently slipping in undetected to his September 28 game against the Baltimore Ravens at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri.
She told Scott Mills on BBC Radio 2 that she’s grown comfortable taking whatever steps are necessary to avoid being seen in public. “I think the entering and exiting building without being seen [is the part of being a spy I’d be best at],” she quipped. “Just put me in a garbage can, roll me, I don’t care. Honestly, I can fit in like, a purse. Sometimes I just can’t deal with it [the paparazzi and attention] and in those times, I won’t deal with it. I’m just digging tunnels under every building I go into, airlifting in through the skylight.”
Swift hasn’t attended any of Kelce’s away games so far this season, but that’s not unusual for the singer. Last season, she didn’t either.
In October 2024, a source explained to Page Six that Swift and her team made this choice primarily due to security concerns. The insider said, “She’s not going anywhere unless she knows the venue intimately, and it has been thoroughly scouted and secured in advance.”
The star couldn’t be more supportive—or in love—with her partner, though. She spoke on SiriusXM’s Morning Mash Up about the moment she fell for Kelce.
“It’s so hard to just pinpoint that, especially ’cause we’re on the radio, and I’m getting shy all of a sudden,” she admitted. “But you know, it’s all turned out great. He’s one of those people where as soon as you meet him, you know he’s the best. And you know there’s no one else on the planet that’s ever been even remotely similar to him. He’s one of one. I hope you get to hang with him sometime ’cause you’ll absolutely love him.”
