Look, this definitely counts. On Thursday night, during the Los Angeles red-carpet premiere for the Kardashian family’s new Hulu series, Kim Kardashian toted along her boyfriend Pete Davidson. So what if they never actually posed together on the step-and-repeat? They were still there. Together. And, anyway, Davidson had good reason to avoid the paps: According to an interview Kardashian gave E! News during the event, cameras just aren’t “his thing.” (I’m not sure I buy that, but sure!)

Such cameraphobia didn’t prevent paparazzi from shooting the couple as they held hands away from the step-and-repeat. Davidson’s affection for Kardashian was already clear at this point—I mean, the man has his girlfriend’s name branded on his skin—but if there was still any doubt: See Exhibit A below.

While Kardashian opted for an on-brand hip-hugging silver gown at the premiere, Davidson leaned into his brand with a casual blazer, T-shirt and sneakers ensemble. The Skims mogul told E! News that she wasn’t so sure about the comedian at first, and she “hesitated” to have him appear in the family’s new series. “I didn’t just want to meet someone, go on a date and talk about it on the show,” she said. “I definitely waited.”

But as the whole Kardashian-Jenner clan made clear in an ABC News special that aired April 6, Davidson’s family now—cameras or not. “I mean, I am a, like, relationship kind of girl, for sure,” Kardashian told Robin Roberts. “And I wouldn’t be with someone if I didn’t plan on spending a lot of my time with them. Obviously I wanna take my time, but I’m very happy and very content, and it’s such a good feeling just to be at peace.”
