If the last few seasons have proven anything, it’s that fashion has little interest in hiding lingerie. Tyla and Kendall Jenner are the latest to confirm the trend, both stepping out this week in lace-trim camisoles styled as evening wear.
Tyla wore hers to Valentino’s fall/winter 2026 show in Rome. The singer chose a pale pink camisole with sheer trim and embroidery along the neckline, styling it with a gray pinstriped micro-miniskirt. The combination balanced two opposing codes: the softness of lingerie and the structure of suit-inspired tailoring.
She finished the outfit with Valentino Rockstud pumps, a style that first dominated fashion in the early 2010s and has recently reappeared in Alessandro Michele’s revival of the house.
Jenner took a more archival route while attending W Magazine and Dior’s pre-Oscars dinner in Los Angeles. Her lace-trim cami came from John Galliano’s fall 1998 Dior collection. The model paired the vintage piece with black trousers and a chic narrow scarf draped around her neck, keeping the styling understated with pointed heels and minimal jewelry.
The looks echoed a broader shift happening across the runways. In recent seasons, designers have increasingly incorporated lingerie elements—lace slips, bra tops, and sheer layers—into everyday dressing. For their spring/summer 2026 collections, houses like Dior and Chloé layered delicate intimates beneath structured garments, turning traditionally private pieces into visible styling details.
Tyla has been particularly experimental with fashion during this fashion month. Earlier in Paris, she appeared at the Jean Paul Gaultier presentation wearing a cone-bra dress referencing the brand’s famous Madonna-era designs.
Jenner, meanwhile, has been leaning into archival fashion for her recent red-carpet and event appearances. That includes a vintage Giorgio Armani slip previously worn by Cindy Crawford that she wore to Emporio Armani’s “Power of Fragrance” party during Milan Fashion Week.
But just like statement pieces and vintage designer looks, the lace cami is a reliable hero for a night out.
