Aubrey Plaza was recently the face of Loewe, but this New York Fashion Week, she traded her Toy Drop stilettos for something a little more down-to-earth…or at least, down to the sidewalk.

Aubrey Plaza heads to Ulla Johnson’s fall/2026 show at New York Fashion Week.

This past weekend, the 41-year-old actress arrived at Ulla Johnson’s fall/winter 2026 fashion show wearing a head-to-ankle look by the Upper East Side designer, styled by Jessica Paster. The outfit included ribbed black pants with a slouchy kick flare, a matching square-shouldered blazer, and a black cashmere sweater. She paired it with an Aupen handbag that’s (of course) completely sold out and a pair of slick black Celine shades.

But it was the shoe situation that really established the look, which could have skewed more boardroom than off-duty bombshell with a standard heel. Instead, the Agatha All Along star wore Hoka’s Bondi 7 sneakers, with ribbed black edges, visible gray stitching that looks a bit like a trapeze net, and a tire track sole.

Thanks to its geometric, textured upper, the shoe is black without being blah, and has just enough elevation in the chunky sole that it helps Plaza’s slouchy pant bottoms push up at the seams, creating that coveted “puddle hem” effect that looks like your trousers are swirling just above the floor. We’ve seen it on the runways at Victoria Beckham and The Row, and on celebrities like Jennifer Lawrence and even Kate Middleton.

Now Plaza joins Team Puddle with a sneaker that’s functional, attainable at $165, and ready to do some heavy style lifting without much fuss. Unlike Plaza’s bag, it’s also still in stock…at least for a few more hours.
