The Drama: Everything We Know So Far
Zendaya will soon be back on our movie screens—and thank God for that! Better yet, she’s bringing Robert Pattinson along with her. Their buzzy new film, The Drama, is written and directed by Kristoffer Borgli (Sick of Myself) and brought to you by A24, and follows Zendaya and Pattinson’s newly-engaged characters as they prepare for their wedding.
Here’s everything we know about the project so far.
What is The Drama about?
Here’s the official logline, per A24:
A happily engaged couple is put to the test when an unexpected turn sends their wedding week off the rails.
Who is in the cast?
Zendaya and Robert Pattinson lead the film as the soon-to-be-married couple, Emma Harwood and Charlie Thompson. The cast is rounded out by Zoë Winters, Mamoudou Athie, Alana Haim, and Hailey Gates.
On Instagram, A24 posted a fictionalized engagement announcement, which gives more insight into Zendaya and Pattinson’s characters. Emma is from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and her father is a military veteran. She attended Boston University, where she earned a degree in English, and she currently works at Mission Books. (Whether that’s a bookstore or a publishing company remains to be seen.) Charlie, on the other hand, is from London and earned his Ph.D in art history from Tufts University. He’s now the director of the Cambridge Arts Museum.
When does The Drama come out?
The Drama will hit theaters on Apr. 3, 2026.
Can I watch a trailer?
Yes, the official teaser trailer was released in December 2025. The clip shows Emma (Zendaya) and Charlie (Pattinson) awkwardly navigating a pre-wedding photoshoot, where Succession’s Zoë Winters portrays the photographer. As tensions grow increasingly strange, we get short glimpses into their complex relationship.
