Associate accessories editor Madison Rexroat credits Rihanna and A$AP Rocky for the recent revival of Puma sneakers like the Speedcat. “Even their classic styles are sleek and cool to me,” she says. “Aesthetically, they fit into the world of retro sneakers having a major moment but are also accessible price-wise.”
“The Adidas Samba has become a ubiquitous street style staple, thanks in large part to its nostalgic appeal and infinite wearability,” says Claire Stern Milch, digital director. “Once you try on a pair, you immediately understand why.”

“In terms of comfort, these Salomon XT-Whisper sneakers give my tried-and-true New Balances a run for their money,” says Dale Arden Chong, senior fashion commerce editor. “I’ve worn these for extended walking days through New York and traipsing through Europe in unpredictable weather, so take that for what you will.”

Chong admits she’s a “creature of habit” when it comes to sneakers. “For some things, there are just certain brands I turn to no matter what,” she explains. “New Balance has been (and still is) known for dad shoes, but the 327 is nothing like that; consider it the sleek alternative. Reebok’s pumped-up Club C Extra is one of associate fashion commerce editor Meg Donahue’s favorite white platform sneakers. “The only caveat is that they’re definitely on the casual side,” she notes. “But with this level of comfort and affordability, that’s A-okay with me.”
Rexroat notes she’s into an “all-black sartorial vibe” as of late, one that includes monochrome black sneakers. “There’s something very cool and edgy about an all-black sneaker, especially one from Salomon,” remarks the associate accessories editor.
