A Source Close to Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner Shares What Was Really on That Ring Camera Footage
Finally, we have an answer to what was on that ring camera footage that reportedly led Joe Jonas to file for divorce from his wife of four years, Sophie Turner. A source revealed to Us Weekly that the camera caught Turner “saying some not-so-nice things about Jonas” to a friend of hers.
“It wasn’t anything more than that, but that was the final straw,” the source said.
Multiple sources told TMZ about the ring camera footage on September 6, the day after Jonas filed for divorce. The outlet wrote that “Joe had access to a ring cam that he said captured Sophie saying and/or doing something that made him realize the marriage was over.” The outlet didn’t reveal what Jonas saw, leaving room for people to assume the worst.
Jonas and Turner released a joint statement that same day, saying, “After four wonderful years of marriage we have mutually decided to amicably end our marriage. There are many speculative narratives as to why but, truly this is a united decision and we sincerely hope that everyone can respect our wishes for privacy for us and our children.”
A second source addressed Turner’s feelings about the disparaging, misogynistic comments sources associated with Jonas said about her in news reports about their divorce. “Sophie was essentially painted as a party animal,” the source said. “She was shocked and hurt.”
For his part, Jonas tried to separate himself from the comments later, saying at a Jonas Brothers concert, “If you don’t hear it from these lips, don’t believe it.”
His rep also addressed the comments in response to Turner’s first court filing. “Joe has already disavowed any and all statements purportedly made on his behalf that were disparaging of Sophie,” the rep said. “They were made without his approval and are not consistent with his views.”
