For example, take “Plastic Off the Sofa,” a sensual track with riffs so intricate and perfectly executed they’re sure to send you straight to the heavens.

The lyrics seem to revolve around a familiar kind of love (“Boy, I know you can’t help but to be yourself around me,” is the first line) but a passionate one too (“I like it rough,” Bey adds later on). Sung with Beyoncé’s airy yet powerful vocals over a funky bass line, the result is a fun and sexy number reminiscent of her 2013 song “Blow.”

The writing credits for “Plastic Off the Sofa” include the superstar herself, Nick Green, Syd and The Internet bassist Patrick Paige II, and Sabrina Claudio; but listening through, one can’t help but think it could be Beyoncé’s devoted love letter to her husband, Jay-Z. (We’ve come a long way from Lemonade, haven’t we?) One part even seems to reference to their private family life—and a joke about him. “The rest of the world is strange / Just stay in our lane / Just you and me / And our family / I think you’re so cool / Even though, I’m cooler than you.”

Our speculation aside, Beyoncé did share as short but sweet shoutout to Jay-Z and their three kids—Blue Ivy, Rumi, and Sir—ahead of the Renaissance release. “I want to give a special thanks to Rumi, Sir, and Blue for allowing me the space, creativity, and inspiration, and a special thanks to my beautiful husband and muse, who held me down during those late nights in the studio,” she wrote in a message on her website.
