Teacher, student abducted in Edo freed – The Nation Newspaper

A teacher, Mr. Uzoaku Onyemaobi, 38, and a student, Elizabeth Ayim, 24, of the National Institute for Construction Technology, Uromi in Esan Northeast Local Government Area of Edo State, who were abducted last Wednesday, have been freed.

It was learnt Monday in Benin that the release of the two victims unhurt was made possible by vigilance men of Uromi and police, who combed the forest and engaged the hoodlums in a gun battle, frocing the kidnappers to flee.


Police spokesman Kontongs Bello Monday evening confirmed the release on the telephone, adding that the two  reunited with their families.
