By Austin Isikhuemen Lawrence Erewele, I usually don't join this type of disjointed discussion that does neither Esan that you seem to be advocating for nor Edo in general any good. This is a self defeating project you are embarking on and I will tell you why: The plan for the dualisation and reconstruction of the highway from Abuja to Edo State has never has never included the stretch from Okene to Benin City. From several military regimes and civilian governments over the years. This man you are villifying was the one that ensured it was finally included, the contract awarded and the project commenced before he left office with three contractors simultaneously mobilized. But for the controversial loss of the 2015 elections, that project would since have been completed across Edo State with Esanland being a major beneficiary. When you keep stating that that was a Federal Project, do you mean that some people called "Federal" are the ones to use the road? You may as well argue then that the NICTM is not benefiting Edo State and Esan people! A lot of people have pointed out many projects he executed which you may not have been aware of or chose to ignore- the Ahia-Emu-Asaba highway and bridge across River Utor, for example. That road project was first envisioned in the 70s and was first bulldozed around 1976. This minister saw to its completion. Ask those from that axis. What of the Agbor-Ewu road under construction? Try and find out the battles he had to fight to get those projects approved. For God's sake he was a Federal Minister, not minister for Esan affairs. But there is a point we must not miss. If this platform is a PDP one and what we want to use it for is to denigrate our shining stars, you are opening up our flanks to the enemy. And you are providing ammunition for them to attack you in the future. And don't forget there are some political tourists too who are here today and there tomorrow. I also see some of us who do not see that they are doing their part of Edo a deservice. Which other part has been coming up to speak against their people on this platform. Instead of praising what you have got, I see a lot of puerile accusations that this is not an Uromi platform simply because some folks from that town are very active. Let us get active and encourage people from every town to be up and doing. That's how elections are won. These childish infighting before the battle starts is self-defeating. A divided house loses a war before bullets are fired. I also noted a couple of threats in the post. It is sad that such is being written on a platform of the same political party. Threats at this stage? What for? Other parts of the state are saying that Esans are the ones who can make or mar their own political chances. These posts sadly make those predictions seem plausible. Unfortunately. I would like to conclude that if this platform is to be taken seriously, we must avoid these sort of destructive tendencies. How can we be members of "PDP family* and these are the things we post? Where is the discussion of strategies to defeat the opponent and make our party the most appealing? Do we elicit appeal by running our shining stars down? If we want serious minded people to join and remain here on this platform we should be doing things that build, not those that destroy. This applies to Chief Onolemenmen as well as other party leaders. Let's keep the house *united*. That's the only way we can be strong. *Power to the People*
