How do you take a sweet PDA moment and make it terrifying? Put a The Joker filter on it, the way Miley Cyrus and Cody Simpson did last night on his Instagram Story. The Australian singer and Cyrus’ new beau posted a clip of them in bed with scary clown faces on. They shared a French kissed and laughed, and it is honestly a little chilling:
Cyrus and Simpson are no stranger to showing PDA on Instagram. They’ve both shared cuddly selfies of each other over the past two weeks.
Cyrus also made a little statement about her relationship philosophy Sunday, liking a quote Vice shared from Harron Walker, which said, “Stop being weird! Own your desires! Other people are people, even the ones you don’t want to fuck anymore.”
“Just break up with someone—don’t ghost or ‘fizz,’ a trendy new name for that age-old dating practice where you end things with someone by cutting off contact. ?” Vice captioned the post. Cyrus commented, “#dignity” on it.
Cyrus defended herself last weekend when she was attacked for dating Simpson so quickly after her breakups from her ex-husband Liam Hemsworth and Kaitlynn Carter, who she dated for a month immediately after her separation from Hemsworth was announced.
“I am trying to just THRIVE/survive in a ‘man’s’ world,” she wrote, pointing out the double standard between the way men and women’s dating behaviors are treated. “If we can’t beat ’em, join ’em! If our president can ‘grab ’em by the pussy….’ can’t I just have a kiss and açaí bowl?!?!”
Then, she got more candid, writing that she’s just figuring out how to date too. “This ‘dating’ thing is new to me too. I’ve never been an ‘adult’/ grown ass woman experiencing this,” she wrote. “I was in a committed relationship for almost all my teens and early 20s, with the exception of a few breaks, which usually in those times I was working my ass off with not much R&R, and ‘meeting / trusting’ people in my position is really tuff. Don’t fucking pity me, not what I’m asking for. I have a great life; I wouldn’t trade for ‘privacy,’ but PLEASE don’t make this awkward for me! I am trying to make light and like always MAKE FUN of myself / and the public’s perception of me! Get used to me dating—this is where I am at! #HotGirlFall”
