Governor of Edo State, His Excellency Godwin Obaseki today inaugurated the boards of the Edo Development and Property Authority (EDPA), Edo City Transport Service (ECTS), Health Management Board (HMO) and the Board of Technical and Vocational Education (BTVE) at the banquet hall in Government House.

While inaugurating the boards, the Governor enumerated reasons for the delay in constituting the board for various agencies and parastatals in the State.

Obaseki who was flanked by the Speaker of Edo State House of Assembly Rt.Hon. Frank Okiye and Deputy Speaker Rt.Hon. Yekini Idaiye said the delay was because he did not want government agencies and parastatals to do business as usual.

He stated that he needed to clean up the rot in the agencies and parastatals before constituting board members, adding that past board members did not help those agencies they were appointed to pilot their affairs.

“I personally took time to select these board members because i didn’t want it to be business as usual. We have taken time to reform most of those institutions to be able to perform its role.

He charged the newly constituted boards on effective service delivery, stressing that as progressives we must strive hard to make life better for the people.

Obaseki also lauded members of Edo All Progressive Congress(APC) for their unalloyed loyalty to the party in the state.

“I want to thank APC members that have remained committed. You know we have not wasted government money”,he said.
