Some casualties in Nigerian building collapse -Lagos state governor

LAGOS, March 13 (Reuters) – Some people were killed when a Nigerian building that housed a school collapsed on Wednesday, the governor of Lagos state said, as rescuers continued to search for survivors.

“We have rescued about 25 people, some already dead,” said Akinwunmi Ambode, the governor of Lagos, where the four-storey building came down, leaving 100 schoolchildren and many others feared trapped. Ambode did not say how many had died. (Reporting by Alexis Akwagyiram in Lagos; Writing by Paul Carsten; Editing by Catherine Evans)
