Beyond Politics of ‘Obito’ and the Only Sin of Dr. Mike
I have watched closely the political brouhaha in different fora, though I sure have a stand, but I have decided to go quietly about it, by liking comments of different commentators and sometimes using other smileys. But for over a week there has been a proxy account who decided to attack me on my inbox with all sorts of insults, his (though the proxy appears as a female) insults daily comes to my inbox like the doctor’s prescription perhaps hoping it will deter me from standing boldly with what I believe, he sure met with the wrong guy.
Just this night when I was done clearing my tables of all works and assignment, I decided to check in my facebook and to see her messages and as luck will shine on me, she was online and put a call across and to have discussion with her (though I knew it was a proxy) hoping to have a frank discussion with her, yes, she picks, and it happens to be a guy’s voice.
At first, he was silent, and she noticed I was for peace, he opened, and said I am for aspirant A and B, and I reply, I am for Mike the former Minister of works, and the next thing I heard was rain of abuses on the former minister and I became inquisitive what must be the reason behind this vexation, and I enquire of him the reason behind this anger, and this were the two reason.
Mike does not open his gate, how can you call yourself a leader and you don’t open your gate and secondly he does not attend parties(obito), then he continue his ranting, and later got his calmness and there comes my question, If Mike and politician A and B should stand who do you think Uromi people will pick, He answered Mike, when it comes to the development of uromi Mike and these two politician who has done better He said Mike and I followed up with this questions asking what do we want as people, is it individual benefit or the development of the community at this he could not answer the questions and became mute and dropped the call.
We are where we are as people because often we seek individual benefits at the expense of the general populace, paraphrasing the words of Merlin, “we are easily ready to rule with devil than to be a servant to a good man” Sunny Okosun of blessed posed a rhetoric question “which way Nigeria” in the words of Peter Obi 2003 “we are not cursed but we are the cause of our problem” the late Gen. Sam. Ogbemudia declared Mike as the best to have supervised the Ministry since 1960.
I Idiahi Anthony Okosun, will support a candidate either with the performance in his past office or someone whose argument seems superior to that of his peer, the number of Obito attended is never a measure for credible leadership to me it should be a measure of joblessness.
