Islamic State says killed 13 Nigerian soldiers in attacks

CAIRO, April 4 (Reuters) – Islamic State said on Thursday it killed 13 Nigerian soldiers and five troops from a regional force in attacks carried out between Friday and Wednesday.

In its weekly newspaper Al-Nabaa, it said the attacks took place in the northeastern Nigerian state of Borno and a town in the Lake Chad region, which covers Chad and Nigeria. (Reporting by Hesham Hajali; Writing by Alexis Akwagyiram; Editing by Andrew Heavens)
